Our Story
A hidden gem that feeds the North Stamford community from 6am to close — Guatemalan at heart, Italian by tradition, made to order every time.
Guatemalan Roots. Italian Heart.
El Torito Deli is not a fusion concept. It’s two serious culinary traditions living under one roof on High Ridge Road — and both sides are fully committed. Loroco Pupusas and Sopa De Pata on one side of the menu. Penne Alla Vodka, Chicken Scaparielo, and Seafood Spaghetti on the other.
The Italian menu isn’t a gesture toward a wider audience. It’s a real kitchen making real Italian food: broccoli rabe with sweet Italian sausage, ravioli with spinach and ricotta, fettuccine alfredo. The kind of dishes you’d expect from a neighborhood Italian spot, not a Latin-American restaurant that added pasta to fill out a menu.
We Cook for the Community
The menu tells you exactly who El Torito Deli is cooking for. Tortrix, Piguis, and Diana Nachos aren’t on the shelves to be exotic — they’re there because this is what the community eats. Natural Horchata, Jamaica, and Tamarind Aguas Frescas aren’t a marketing angle — they’re house-made drinks for regulars who know to ask.
This is a Guatemalan-Latin kitchen serving its own community first, and it shows. Not an Americanized interpretation. Not a “Latin-inspired” concept. The real thing.

Chips, House Sauce, and a Seat Outside
If you dine in, you already know: the chips and house sauce come out before you order. It’s not on the menu board. It’s not advertised. It’s just what happens when you sit down at El Torito Deli. That kind of detail is why regulars come back.
The space is small — casual, comfortable, seating for a handful inside. But there’s outdoor seating too, which makes it quietly pleasant despite being on a busy stretch of High Ridge Road. A spot where you can actually slow down for a meal.
“Elevates your dining experience from fast food to quick, made-to-order meals.”

Most restaurants pick a meal. El Torito Deli picked all of them. Breakfast sandwiches and cafe at 6am. Pupusas and Guatemalan plates at lunch. Italian pasta and mains for dinner. Takeout and delivery until close.
The breadth of what comes out of this kitchen is the story — not a gimmick, not a pivot. A community deli that genuinely feeds its neighborhood from morning to night, Monday through Sunday.
